Within the project “Smart Travel on Cultural Routes” SMART TOUR, “Virtual Tour – Pilot Actions” was organized. This project is financed by the EU, the program “Interreg IPA II Cross-Border Cooperation Program “Greece-Albania 2014-2020”, and is implemented by the Institute for Research and Development Barleti (BIRD).
The purpose of this activity was to present the virtual tour and how to use the Virtual Tour platform created for the Ethnographic Museum of Berat. In this activity, PhD Joan IKONOMI and PhD (c) Sokol SHURDHI explained and demonstrated v3D (3D visualizations) for the platform and the museum.
The participants in the activity showed interest and a lot of curiosity regarding the portal and its integration in the tourist packages of the city of Berat. This virtual tour offers a new and rich experience in general, enabling visitors to explore the Ethnographic Museum of Berat in an interactive and virtual way.
With the help of this platform, visitors can browse the halls and exhibitions of the museum, see objects and artifacts in detail, and learn more about Berat’s history and cultural heritage. This innovative technology can also be integrated into the city’s tourism packages, providing a richer and more engaging experience for tourists.
The activity “Virtual Tour – Pilot Actions” was an important step towards the use of virtual technology to promote the destination of Berat and increase the interest of tourists. This initiative brings competitive advantage and creates new opportunities to explore the city’s culture and history in innovative ways.
